The Archewell website (even though it seems no one can actually pronounce it) was launched on 31 December, 2020 – the last day of the US tax year. A coincidence or not? The usual time of around 3 p.m., (UK) is when the Sussex PR team begins work, which is around 8 a.m., in California. […]

  1. So if I have read the info on the Harrymarkle.wordpress page correctly they basically want people to write/submit stories/articles to Archewell and then the delightful duo can do whatever they want with any submissions in any format, quote it, basically claim it as their own etc.? And because I cannot retain any copyright as I have given everything up to them to do with it as they please my work (not plagiarised, please note, because that is unacceptable to them) can then be ‘plagiarised’ by them?

Have I read/understood their ‘rules’ correctly? They have lost their collective marbles and surely cannot be for real. Why would anyone give them carte blanche to one’s original thoughts? We know they have no original thoughts between them, but actually seeing their rules written down is ‘gobsmacking’ to say the least.

I’m not even sure how anyone can work for people like that, it leaves a very nasty taste in the mouth and will surely taint anyone’s reputation? It is mind boggling.

    1. I think their fine print might bring us a bit of clarity. It appears she needs fresh word salad fare, lest people think that she is a one trick pony and incapable original thought… Speaking of original thoughts – how about the rustic garden bench with a garden backdrop? Look familiar? She is using backdrops similar to the Royal Family to maintain that visual connection in the viewers minds. Even their weird Christmas card is her weak attempt at mimicking the Cambridges. “See, we play outdoors with our kid, too?” She doesn’t seem to realize that a digitally manipulated photo of a plastic Fisher Price-styled play house is nowhere near the level of a happy family who wrestle with their dad or stand on a swing every day without the need for seriously staged props. There are some serious issues with her.
I would LOVE to know if stepping down from the RF was really their idea, or if they were asked to leave.

  2. Not only does the duo want people to send manuscripts, photos, ideas, essays, etc, but they want the creative talents, to give away all the rights. Markle knows that the unions of actors, film crews and all others, in the industry, work hard, to get as many rights secured for their members, as possible. If Markles old commercials are shown in Malaysia, she will get royalties (!), because of a strong union. The duo also wants the public to donate to their bank account, instead of directly to the charities, they recommend. If I presented this, as a business model, to my bank manager or potential investors, they would fall off their chairs from laughter. If I told them that, I would promote it with pictures of my mother, that has been dead for decades, they would call for some, friendly, people in white coats, to escort me off the premises. It might just be, normal, American business. To me it is sick and sickening.
